Policy

To ensure the health and safety of Residents, staff and the public all persons entering the Home shall refrain from using scented personal care products. These include perfumes, colognes, aftershave, scented hairsprays, etc.

Procedure

1. Employees, medical staff, volunteers, the public, students, salespersons and others entering the premises of R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home shall refrain from the use of scented products.
2. R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home actively encourages Residents to refrain from the use of scented products.
3. R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home actively encourages Resident and public support of this policy through public relations efforts and through information to be included in Resident information packages.
4. All departments shall make every effort to use scent-free products and if not presently available, make known to suppliers that R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home encourages use of scent-free products.
