2024 Campaign
The 2024 campaign was a great success with over twenty thousand dollars raised to date. The chapel was filled to overflowing with more chairs having to be brought in. Music filled the air and a wonderful lunch was served after the event which was well attended.
We celebrated Christmas this year by helping the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home light its tree with bulbs dedicated to love. This was the 27th year that our “Lights of Love” Christmas tree was lit to honour individuals in whose name donations have been made. Those honoured did not have to be Residents of the R.K.
Your bulbs were dedicated in memory of a deceased loved one or honoured someone presently in your life.
Donations will be used to “Purchase New Blanket Warmers for our Residents” which are not covered by the day-to-day operation of the facility.
The Lights of Love Service was held at 2:00pm on Sunday December 8, 2024 and the Lights of Love tree was lit during the service. Following prayers, dedications, and carols, refreshments were served in the R.K. Dining Room. All dedications will be entered in a “Lights of Love Memorial Book” that will be on display in the R.K. Chapel throughout the upcoming year.

About
Each year, during the month of November, the R. K. Foundation carries out its Lights of Love fundraising campaign with a specific project in mind. The campaign culminates with a special ceremony held in the R. K. Chapel at 2:00 p.m. on the first Sunday of December.
Individuals can make a donation by purchasing a light on the R. K. MacDonald Christmas tree. There is no limit to the number of lights a person can purchase. Tax receipts are available upon request, and cards can be sent to individuals in whose name you have made a donation. Contributions can also be made in memory of loved ones who have passed.
