Opening Statement
The R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is a Long-Term Care Home to 137 Residents and employs 290- 300 staff in various Departments.
-GW – Janitor – Shifts
Qualifications/Skills Required
Must have a valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License.

Good physical health, ability to work independently and with others, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, ability to learn the operation of equipment, ability to perform repetitive tasks, and ability to work in a warm congested area. Grade 12 Education. Must have a good working knowledge of janitorial and floor care.
Regular and consistent attendance is essential.
Training/Work Experience: Work experience in floor maintenance i.e., vacuuming, washing, wax, and buffing, safety procedures with garbage deposal, ground maintenance, i.e., lawn tractor, salt, etc.
-GW – Laundry – Shifts
The General Worker (Laundry) is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the heavy laundry equipment in the cleaning of all types of linens, clothes, etc.
Education/Training/Experience
Good physical health, ability to work independently and with others, ability to follow verbal and written instructions, ability to learn the operation of equipment, ability to perform repetitive tasks.
Grade 12 Education, experience in laundry preferred, but not required.

Hours of Work
Days/Weekends 8am-4/7 am – 3 pm/6am-2pm (subject to change) hours may flex as need arises.
Salary GW Janitor $18.4754-18.7729/hr. GW Laundry WP $18.8371-19.1406/hr. (based on experience)
