Opening Statement

The R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is a Long-Term Care Home to 137 Residents and employs approx. 300 staff in various Departments.

N Skills & Abilities required – Key focus areas are Leadership, Care Standards Consistency, Team Coordination, and Delivery of Competent Nursing Care.

Qualifications required – RN or BScN at an accredited School/College of Nursing.  Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of NS.  Recent experience in geriatric setting preferred.    Demonstrate competency in team building, conflict resolution, delegation, and leadership.  Current CPR certification required with annual updates and annual WHMIS required.  Regular & consistent attendance is essential.

Hours of Work

Casual Shifts

Coverage required to cover vacant shifts in 24-hour period – shifts in Rotational (12 hr. shifts includes weekends).  Pay for full hours and breaks biweekly (7am-7pm & 7 pm-7am)

Salary: Based on service years with NSNU rate scale.
