Dear Residents, Family and Friends of RK MacDonald
As of June 30, 2021 “the goal of COVID-19 Management of Long Term Care facilities is to, as much as possible, prevent the introduction of the virus into the facility and/or prevent transmission to its residents and staff within the facility” [Chief Medical Officer of Health]
Based on the July 12, 2021 announcement, there will be further opportunities to visit and with an increase in visitation comes an increased responsibility to meet the goal of keeping COVID-19 out of the Home. This will require all of us to continue to practice public health measures such as hand washing and mask wearing [Masks must be properly worn at all times on the property– inside and outside]. Increased visitation also means increased infection prevention and control measures – which takes time to organize staffing resources in order for us to be in alignment with Long Term Care directives. Respecting the contagious nature of the Delta variant, we have to remain committed and vigilant to keeping each other virus free and we can do this by: wearing a mask, washing our hands, get fully vaccinated and get regular asymptomatic testing.
It is also imperative that anyone who develops COVID-19 symptoms and/or tests positive within two weeks of their visit to the facility notifies the facility immediately to ensure we take the necessary precautions.
Revised visitation rules under Phase IV are available here.
