The R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is a Long Term Care Home to 137 Residents and employs approx. 270 staff in various Departments.
RN Skills & Abilities required – Key focus areas are: Leadership, Care Standards Consistency, Team Coordination, and Delivery of Competent Nursing Care.
Qualifications required – RN or BScN at an accredited School/College of Nursing. Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of NS. Recent experience in geriatric setting preferred. Demonstrate competency in team building, conflict resolution, delegation, and leadership. Current CPR certification required with annual updates and annual WHMIS required. LPN Skills & Abilities Required: refer to LPN (Job) Description.
Qualifications required – LPN at an accredited School/College of nursing. Current license with the College of License Practical Nurses of NS. Minimum of 1-year experience with Medication Administration. Recent experience in geriatric setting preferred. Recent experience as Team Lead or Supervisor of CCA staff/equivalent preferred. Current CPR certification required with annual updates and annual WHMIS require
Hours of Work
DDNN or LONG WEEK/SHORT WEEK (rotations using a Smooth bank)
Rotation shall be determined at hire.
Hours –12 hr. Days & Nights and Weekends as per rotation
Salary: Based on Service years on NSNU/UNIFOR current scale (or experience)
