The R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home is a Long Term Care Home to 137 Residents and employs approx. 270 staff in various Departments.
RN Skills & Abilities required – Key focus areas are Leadership, Care Standards Consistency, Team Coordination, and Delivery of Competent Nursing Care.
Qualifications required – RN or BScN at an accredited School/College of Nursing. Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of NS. Recent experience in geriatric setting preferred. Demonstrate competency in team building, conflict resolution, delegation, and leadership. Current CPR certification required with annual updates and annual WHMIS required. Regular & consistent attendance is essential.

Hours of Work
Hours –12 hr. Days & Nights and Weekends as necessary to cover deficient in schedules
Salary: Based on Service years on NSNU current scale (or experience)
Pension –Yes (Can defer for three (3) mos.)
Vacation, holiday – Yes
Sick benefits- yes following probation period (720 hrs. RN)
Health Benefits – NA (Term undetermined)
