Position Scope: As a Custodial, you are a contributing member of the Care team working with CCA’s under the direction of the RN/LPN.  Providing compassionate care is physically and emotionally demanding.  Respect for each client’s (residents) privacy and dignity is critical, as are active listening, patience and a positive attitude.

Utilizes therapeutic and professional  communication by establishing a working relationship with residents/families and coworkers for the purpose of meeting the resident’s needs; ensuring respect, dignity and individuality of each resident and staff person Assist residents to maintain independence and participate in daily activities – i.e. practical household chores. Supporting residents to have what they enjoy throughout the day – (i.e. snacks, prayer beads, & more). 

Qualifications/Competencies/skills required; Minimum Grade 12.  Fosters two-way communication, team and safety approach.  Experience in Health Care with persons with Dementia/Alzheimer’s, Mental illness & or Challenging Behaviors.  Experience in Conflict Management NCPI (nonviolent crisis intervention training and or GPA Gentle Persuasion) an asset. Experience in Long Term Care an asset. Regular and consistent attendance is essential.

Casual (flexibility in covering Days and Night Shifts weekdays and weekends)

 Hours of Work

(12hrs & 8 hrs. shifts covering 24 hrs.) Shift start times may vary accordingly to assist current residents needs i.e.  7 am, 3pm, 7 pm and, 11 pm


$15.92 hr.
